How it works, and what it can honestly do
A laser pulse is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and converted to heat, which damages the follicle so it produces finer, sparser hair over time. Because hair grows in cycles, only a share of your follicles are treatable at any one appointment. That is why the course is six sessions spaced weeks apart rather than one visit, and why sessions cannot be compressed. Reduction, not removal. Laser treatment reduces hair growth. It does not permanently remove hair.
Most people see substantially less hair, growing back finer and slower, and some choose an occasional maintenance session later. Hormonal factors, hair colour and skin type all affect how much reduction is realistic, which is what the consultation is for.
You will be given aftercare instructions at every visit. Expect some redness for a few hours, avoid sun exposure and hot water on the area for 24 hours, and do not wax or pluck between sessions.
